The Jaylen Brown rumors aren’t going away.
Appearing on ESPN’s NBA Draft coverage Tuesday, Brian Windhorst said he expects a “bidding war” to develop for the Celtics star now that Boston failed to land Giannis Antetokounmpo.
“What I expect to happen is a bidding war for Jaylen Brown,” Windhorst said. “Teams have been preparing for this eventuality.”

Windhorst added that several organizations anticipated Boston could pivot toward exploring Brown’s market if the Celtics were unable to complete a deal for Antetokounmpo.
Meanwhile, ESPN insider Shams Charania reported Tuesday evening that Boston continues to listen to trade inquiries involving Brown.
“Sources tell me that even after the failed trade for Giannis, the team has engaged and listened on trade conversations and offers around Jaylen Brown, even today,” Charania said during ESPN’s draft coverage.
Charania added that rival teams believe there is “a level of intention” behind Boston’s willingness to listen, though he cautioned that doesn’t necessarily mean a trade is imminent.
The Celtics reportedly made a strong push for Antetokounmpo before the Bucks ultimately agreed to send the two-time MVP to the Heat.
Brown, 29, is coming off arguably the finest season of his career, averaging 28.7 points while helping Boston secure the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Trail Blazers, Hawks and Rockets have all been linked to Brown in recent weeks, and if Windhorst is correct, they may soon have company.
