Bucks

Kevin Porter Jr. isn’t headed anywhere. We don’t think.

According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, Porter has exercised his $5.4 million player option and will return to Milwaukee for the 2026-27 season.

Porter appeared in 38 games for the Bucks last year after arriving from the Clippers during the 2024-25 season. Despite battling a knee injury, he averaged 17.4 points, 7.4 assists and 2.2 steals while making 36 starts.

Milwaukee’s backcourt looks much different after acquiring Tyler Herro, drafting Brayden Burries and adding Kasparas Jakucionis, but Porter still brings a unique element as an attacking playmaker who thrives off the dribble.

The Bucks are also awaiting decisions from veterans Taurean Prince and Gary Trent Jr., both of whom hold player options for next season.

Heat

After landing Giannis Antetokounmpo in the biggest trade of the offseason, Miami’s attention now shifts to filling out the rest of the roster.

The Heat still have multiple avenues to add depth after sending much of their young talent to Milwaukee. According to reports, the taxpayer mid-level exception and an existing trade exception remain among the tools available as the front office continues reshaping the roster around Giannis and Bam Adebayo.

Finding perimeter shooting appears to be a priority.

Veterans such as Tim Hardaway Jr., Quentin Grimes, Tobias Harris and Harrison Barnes have all been mentioned as possible free-agent fits, while Miami also addressed that need in the draft by moving up to select Louisville guard Ryan Conwell.

“Clearly we’re trying to identify players that have a shooting skill, and he certainly does,” assistant general manager Adam Simon said. “He’s projected overall as a 37% shooter, which would have been in the top percentile of 650 players that we had studied.”

Wizards

Washington isn’t done looking for frontcourt help.

The Wizards traded up to draft center Felix Okpara in the second round, but general manager Will Dawkins acknowledged the team still intends to pursue another big man once free agency begins.

“That’s still a position that we’re going to try to address in free agency,” Dawkins said, via The Athletic’s Josh Robbins. “But we like the versatility that our big group has right now: the floor spacing with Tristan (Vukcevic), the rim protection with Felix, with his energy and youth. So, we’ll probably want to add something else on top of Alex (Sarr) and Anthony Davis.”

So yes, adding another interior presence would further strengthen a frontcourt that now features Sarr, Davis, Vukcevic and the newly drafted Okpara.
