The Pistons and Celtics have discussed the framework of a deal that would send Jaylen Brown to Detroit, with center Jalen Duren serving as the centerpiece in a potential sign-and-trade, per Marc Stein and Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.

Nothing appears imminent, but the report is the latest indication that Boston continues exploring ways to reshape its roster after missing out on Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Celtics are believed to be prioritizing more size and versatility following their surprising first-round playoff exit to Philadelphia. Boston previously included Brown in its offer to Milwaukee before the Bucks ultimately shipped Antetokounmpo to Miami.

Detroit, meanwhile, has made no secret of its desire to add another high-level shot creator alongside Cade Cunningham.

The Pistons have already been linked to Austin Reaves, Tyler Herro, Norman Powell and Coby White this offseason. Reaves and White have since agreed to remain with their current teams, leaving Detroit searching for another impact scorer.

Duren’s future has also become a storyline.

The young center and the Pistons reportedly remain far apart in contract talks, with the expectation that he’ll test restricted free agency. Duren averaged 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds during the regular season, though his production dipped noticeably during Detroit’s playoff run.

Nothing seems close at the moment with Detroit and Boston.

But the sides have talked and the Celtics are clearly gauging Brown’s market.
